Presents…
Sneak peek of fantasy/adventure graphic novel Lakay
Synopsis:
Identical twins Nina and Beverly Gates and their little brother Kenji have three problems: their schizophrenic mother has just entered another mania state where she is sure the Men in Black are out to get her and her family and so she has disappeared once again, their father has been deceased for a year now after being slain while on police duty, and now they are stuck with their paternal grandparents.
The last problem doesn’t really sound like a problem at all, right? Wrong. Seeing his grandchildren’s melancholy, Grandpa Gates extends them an offering gift in the form of their father’s old board game simply called Lakay, which means ‘home’. But there is something not-so-simple about this game at all. In fact, it is extraordinary. Why? Because the board game comes to life and before the three siblings know it, they are tossed into its world where its inhabitants are currently experiencing even greater tragedy and misfortune than them. Will the Gates children ever get back home? Only if they can make Lakay return to the magical land it used to be, a place its inhabitants can call home like they used to. Yet it will be a big task because there’s a huge creature only known as The Spider who has been reigning over the land for years and will do everything in its power to ensure that the Gates children won’t be able to make Lakay a home again.
